Scenic Valley

Operating on vast farmland in the Pohangina Valley, near the Manawatū scenic highway is where you’ll find Scenic Valley. Located on the western side of the valley, Scenic Valley has incredible views overlooking the Pohangina river and up to the Ruahine ranges.

Run by Mike Peters, a former dairy farmer, Agricultural Science graduate, and Farm Dairy Advisor/Consultant. Now, as Scenic Valley’s beekeeper, bookkeeper, woodchopper, distributor, and more, Mike has his hands full surrounded by the land that he loves every day.

Mike loves sharing the beautiful, natural products his scenic valley has to offer. His knowledge and passion are at the heart of the Scenic Valley’s journey. Every jar of honey and trailer load of firewood is produced by a local scientist with a deep love of the land.

Scenic Valley has an abundance of Mānuka and Kānuka trees, from which we produce two main products:

• Firewood: We specialise in the supply of Mānuka and Kānuka firewood cut and seasoned right here on our farm. This hardwood firewood option is slow-burning, and it produces high levels of heat that last for hours. This makes Mānuka and Kānuka popular for everything from living room fireplaces to pizza ovens.
• Honey: The honey we supply comes straight from the hives here on our farm, with the bees getting their nectar from our own trees and plants. So it’s completely raw, natural, and delicious. We then package the honey they produce in glass jars for shipping to you directly.
